This is a photo from my trip to Malaysia (December 2019). This adorable hedgehog is 3D coffee art. Did I mention that I LOVE coffee?! #coffeeislife
Welcome to my 2023 Teacher Blog!
Hello! Welcome to my 2023 teaching blog. My name is Nat Devine and I teach in Brisbane, Australia. This is my 12th year in the classroom. For those of you who followed my blog in the past, thank you so much; your support is appreciated. Apologies that the posts got less frequent as the years progress....#teacherlife I always start my yearly blogs with great intentions….and then the reality of being a teacher takes over: the planning, the creating, the marking, the extra-curricular activities and the never-ending ...I repeat.....NEVER-ENDING to-do list. So, consequently, my blog is always pushed to the bottom of my to-do list. This year I am determined to post more regularly and keep you up to date with classroom shenanigans.
The last time I posted was 2020. 2020 was a year full of change for me. Just a little background on my teaching career thus far. I graduated university in 2011, with a Bachelor of Education specialising in Middle Years. In 2012 I scored a permanent job at a High School, which wasn't really what I wanted, and I thought I'd just do it for a little while and then get a primary school teaching job. NEXT MINUTE I've already been there for 8 years because I LOVED it so much! Towards the end of 2019, I decided now is the time to fulfil my childhood dream and get a job in a primary school, so I bit the bullet and landed a job at an awesome school where I am in my 4th year teaching Year 6. To say I was EXCTED about my new job is an understatement. It was also sad to leave the school I had been at for 8 years, but it will always have a special place in my heart. <3
BLOG NAME REASONING: I pondered for some time about what to call my blog. I love my job, however there really is one thing that allows me to do my job to a satisfactory (or sometimes higher!) level, that I couldn't possibly live without. This thing is magical, it’s soul-warming, it's life-giving and it makes the impossible seem possible .......................................COFFEE!! Teach_Coffee_Repeat is literally what I do for 40 weeks of the year, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
One of my favourite memes that I can relate to 100%:
